Biography
Dr. Gizaw Desta obtained his Ph.D. in agriculture specializing in land and water management engineering from the University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences, Vienna, Austria, in October 2009. He got an MSc (2003) in soil and water conservation engineering and a BSc (1994) in agricultural engineering from Alemaya University. His research career is in the fields of soil and water conservation, watershed management, soil erosion processes, hydrology and sedimentation, landscape restoration and management, water harvesting, irrigation, water resources management, and sustainability assessment of agroecosystems. He is also equipped with skills for the multi-stakeholder process. Desta Gessesse currently works as a Research Coordinator on Integrated Watershed Management at ICRISAT, Ethiopia.
