Biography
Asresu Yitayew Mengie is a senior socioeconomist at the Amhara Agricultural Research Institute, Ethiopia. He has a PhD in agricultural economics from the Institute of Food Economics and Consumption Studies in the University of Kiel, Germany. His research analyzes how improved agricultural extension and agricultural inputs supply and commercialization can enhance technology adoption by smallholder farmers and food security. A large part of his research thereby focuses on impact evaluation, using existing data on economic decisions within households as well as field experiments.
